Holy Moly! I haven’t blogged in almost two weeks, but with holidays here and things slowing down I’ll be back at it! The wedding is sadly over as well so I’ll have lots more time on my hands! Y’all, I have a wife!!!!
There is so much I want to share about the wedding as it truly was one of the best days of my life. However, I will dedicate a special post to the big day once professional pics come in as I want to share the true beauty of the big day!
Until the big post comes out I’ll share just a few pictures sent to us by family and friends! We laughed as hard as we cried and couldn’t be more grateful for our friends and family. We love you all so very much!
The wedding was beautiful and I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect day! I got to marry my best friend and cried during her vows, my vows, the ceremony, leaving…. ahhh! I’m so lucky to have found my person!
We had ten amazing girls by our sides as we said our I Do’s! We couldn’t have done it without them. How many bridesmaids does it take to bustle two wedding dresses?! LOL
11/23/19 was the best day of my life! I’m a lucky girl and I can’t wait to share more with everyone in a week or so! Thank you for the love and congrats. I appreciate you all more than you know!
I was so freaking sore for a few days after the wedding! I am SO not used to wearing/walking in/dancing in high heels! Holy hell. The balls of my feet, my calves and my quads were on fire! Plus, I don’t know how many dozens of times we went up and down stairs over the course of 72 hours!
Monday and Tuesdays runs were a little rough. Very late nights, a few glasses of wine and heels really screwed up my body. However, I hit the paces I needed on Track Tuesday getting in 8 miles and crushed today’s 5k Turkey Trot.
I went into the turkey trot with heavy legs, but a 5k isn’t the goal… the marathon is… so we used it as a training run.
It was freezing outside, and of course I wore next to nothing. I forgot my gloves so my hands were freezing! Lesson learned…. again! Lol
The first mile I felt good, Mile two started to hurt… and the third mile… I used every bit of gas I had and almost puked at the finish!
My goal was simply a PR on tired legs. I ran an entire minute faster this year as well so I was very happy, and almost dead, at the finish! Usually I have 100 meter sprint or so in me for that last little bit, but not today. I literally gave all I had. The last 1k was a steady uphill climb as well. Ugh!
Once I caught my breath, I headed out for a 3 mile cool down for a total of 8 miles for Thanksgiving morning. The cool down felt good and I was ready to put my sweater on and check the awards!
There was 1,000 runners and half were female. I was 12th overall and 1st in my age group! Very happy 🙂 New Goals now for the 5k! Staying present but also hungry! That’s why we keep training right? Keep raising that bar!
I am grateful for my wife and Mom Papke for braving the wind and cold to see me run this morning! I have an amazing support system and it pushes me and motivates me every day!
I hope everyone has an incredible Thanksgiving and is surrounded by those they love!
So much more to come!!!!
See you at the start line!
