Run in the Mile, Moment or Lap You’re In + NOLA Bound

Happy Friday! This weekend is going to be a whirlwind, and I can’t wait!

I am currently sitting in the airport waiting for our plane to board in an hour or so. It got delayed, but better to be here early than chance it! Our friend Joel dropped us off and saved us the Uber! Thanks Joel!

This morning I had my 9th day if running and workouts in a row and I’m looking forward to not lacing up them Brooks tomorrow 🙂 Legs feel strong but are ready for a rest day!

I had a 30 minute warmup this morning followed by trying to get a 5k into a certain time! Hard and fast workouts are hard on your own as it’s easy to hit the pause button on the Garmin as I mentioned in THIS POST. Mental toughness is something I’ve been working on and I’m getting stronger. Workouts like this week have definitely pushed me in the right direction.

So, instead of focusing on how tired and heavy my legs felt, the fact that I had miles to go in the workout… I focused on how I felt with each lap. I focused on my breathing and my form, telling myself that I felt good. With only 5 or 6 minutes left, I told myself that anyone could do anything for that amount of time, and I was strong enough to get through a few more minutes of suck. LOL

After my run, I had my final cross country practice of the season (Girls have to run on own tomorrow since I’m in NOLA). It’s hard to believe it’s been almost three months since the above picture was taken the morning of the first practice! State is on Monday so I’ll be cutting my bachelorette in half to be with my girls for the trip to Waco. I know they are going to crush it and I am very proud of them!

It’s hard to believe that we are only 5 weeks away from our wedding! I’m very lucky and appreciate Lynn more than she could ever know 🙂 Next week we can technically get our wedding license! Wow! Next week is absolutely insane busy, I’m already tired thinking about it!

About to bust out my reading material for the plane. I’m excited to be there and hope the weather holds up! It’s supposed to rain Sunday/Monday and I’m afraid my girls will be poured on for State and Lynn will get soaked her final day (without me) in NOLA! We are blessed to have such good friends taking the time to celebrate over the weekend with us in one of the coolest cities ever! Can’t wait!

See you in NOLA!
