This week has been so busy, that I haven’t blogged in 6 entire days! That is a record and I actually felt guilty each day I didn’t get around to posting. Sigh
However, I’ll be making the time this upcoming week as things are settling a bit.
As you know, my shins have been bothering me and I think I may have gone beyond shin splints to worse. So, been doing lots and lots of miles on the elliptical and in the pool to minimize impact on my legs. Have you ever done 10.5 miles on the elliptical in one workout? Then you haven’t lived. Cough
In addition to increasing the resistance of movement, being in the water decreases the stress on your joints, while increasing your range of motion. Because there is no impact, an injured athlete can train in the water and remain fit while injuries heal.
I also really like it because I’ve pretty much had the pool to myself and I can think. Think about training, think about training for my XC girls, think about honey do’s for our upcoming wedding, etc.
Yesterday I had an elliptical workout and watched the 2018 cross country championships while I ran a crap ton of miles. I not only watched the girls, but then I watched the boys. The girl who was leading the girls for the entire race lost it in the last half a second. I would have a hard time getting over that one. Wow!
Getting up at 3-4am depending on workouts has resulted in a lot of coffee and Starbucks.

I also stopped by Krispy Kreme as I heard they had new peanut butter stuffed Reese’s donuts. Um, yes please! It was as good as it sounds. You have to indulge from time to time 😁
I didn’t make it to the grocery store this week, so I’ve literally been cutting up anything, opening cans, putting it together, and calling it a salad. What can I say! The above was actually pretty good!
I have been enjoying cross country and my team more than they could know. I have some very talented and sweet girls and I’m so excited for the season! They had try outs today after a tough week of practice and I’m so very proud of them!
This week has been full of 3-4am wake ups, lots of driving, XC practice, work at 7:30am, 10 hour work days, my workouts, home, creating logs and trainings, and repeat. It’s been crazy busy…. and I LOVE IT!
I have one thing that I am so upset about! Remember that forever bear that Lynn got me that I get candy refills in for a year?!
Well, we went to La Cantera today to load up…. found the store bolted shut, and a failure to pay rent sign posted. My heart is broken and I will be sending an email! Had to settle for Ben & Jerrys and Skittles instead. How sad, right? Lol
I have a road run and pool run tomorrow to see how legs feel, so let’s see how it goes!
