Sunday 20k + Running Math + Adulting + Weekly Mileage

Happy Monday!

Here is how last week went down:

Weekly Miles (all had different purposes, just giving total ran)

Monday – 6 Miles

Tuesday – 9.8 Miles

Wednesday – REST

Thursday – 6 Miles

Friday – 7.6 Miles

Saturday – 6 Miles

Sunday – 12.4 miles

Weekly Total – 47.8

I’m very happy with last weeks workouts! Things are starting to click! Now to just get this shin thing handled and I’ll be good to go!

Yesterday I had a 20k in the agenda. I was supposed to auto lap at the 5k mark and get progressively faster with each one. I did this and am very happy with how I ran. However, I’m an idiot and somehow managed to jack up my splits.

First, I plugged in 5-5k laps which would be a 25k not a 20k. I caught it a mile in, but then it didn’t lap for the second 5k. Second, I ran through the minute rest for a few of them as I forgot it was plugged in there. #rookiemoves

I hate running math, and I can never add 2+2 when I’m sweating. Good thing I’m marrying a teacher who loves math!

I didn’t realize there was an auto lap until my coach laughed at my stupidity. I was trying to plug it in as an interval workout. Live and learn!

The sunrise was gorgeous yesterday! I was also happy I took an entire container filled with ice water to not make the same mistake of hot fountain water from Saturday. I stopped to sip a few times as I did 5 loops to get the miles needed. I think having that ice cold water made the difference in keeping me cool and motivated to get back to where I had it stashed.

By the final 5k I was a sweaty mess! I pushed, repeated to myself – Move with purpose, no regrets which is the mantra I came up with before a few of my spring races. I wanted to finish strong and be proud of my week!

I fueled with GU, which always gets me through my long runs! I had the blueberry pomegranate which was tasty, although Chocolate Outrage is still my favorite flavor.

Once done with my 20k, I headed to The store to get some groceries for the week. I wanted to be better about preparing some things for my girl to eat during the day!

Three hours in the kitchen and I had the following prepped:

  • Oven Roasted Carrots
  • Roasted Brussels Sprouts
  • Tons of chopped veggies and salad fixings
  • Breakfast tacos
  • Kodiak Blueberry Muffins (12g of protein each)
  • Mac n Cheese
  • Honey Whiskey Pulled Pork
  • Watermelon
  • Mango
  • Overnight Oats

I am actually eating a salad as we speak with some of the carrots and Brussels above on it and they are delicious!

The kodiak muffins are a winner, and I will definitely be making these again! Lynn and I both had two for breakfast.

We then #adulted and cleaned the house and I promised I would get my car cleaned Monday after work. Hasn’t been cleaned since Virginia, it’s well overdue!
