What a crazy busy day! I was so focused on numbers, etc at work that the delicious vanilla breve latte (extra shot) I started drinking at 9am made it home with me at 6pm, still 75% full. Saturday morning coffee!
Happy Friday ya’ll! What are you up to this weekend?
I had yet another chiropractor appointment today. I love the Dr’s I see! Dr. Schroeder noticed that my OTHER ankle was pretty swollen since the marathon, so she cracked my neck and back and then sent me for an ultra sound to help reduce inflammation.
This ankle is actually more painful than my right ankle a month ago. However it is ligament vs tendon (or vice versa I forget) so it’s swollen on top of my ankle vs the bottom and actually creaks when I move it. As you can see on the picture below, I have no left ankle. LOL
After the chiropractor, I headed to see Paul in Alamo Heights! He has been doing ART for decades… even worked on Meb after the the San Antonio Rock n Roll Marathon weekend.
I loved my first ART (Active Release Techniques) appointment and Paul was awesome. Knew what was aching and tight right away. I have two more appointments next week and hoping that my issue will be resolved as a result and that I can continue utilizing ART to elevate my running (staying healthy, giving sore muscles some TLC, etc)
Today’s appointment was enlightening. Learned more about how my body is wired.. and it hurt a bit! I’m a believer 🙂
These delicious Sahale nuts that I received in a race packet last month were a delicious mid morning snack. I shoved them in my backpack when I realized i was eating a dry bagel this morning with no yummy cream cheese and knew I’d be hungry a little later on! YUM!
This girl. Bella. The sweetest most sassy little pup I’ve ever met. LOVE her!
This final giveaway for Shalane Flanagan’s cookbook – with a signed bookplate! Follow my instagram @roadrunnerchic1 and follow this blog with a comment below for chance to win! I will announce the winner this weekend!
Knowing I will earn this half marathon medal in two weeks. I wanted to be SO fast for this race, but considering my current state and a month ago… I am just excited to complete comfortably. I will have an under 2 hour goal…. throwing that out there 🙂 Will be tough, but my end goal once healed is 1:35 at a half in the next 6 months. I will get this. I will get there. I have been close.
I’m a little exausted, so I’m ending this here. I will have much more to post about this weekend. Thanks for reading. Thanks for being part of my journey.
