Happy Turkey Eve! I hope this post finds everyone enjoying time with friends and family…. and lots of relaxing!
The day started out a little later than normal, as I didn’t sleep well with all the excitement with our friends last night. (Plus a sweet dog that wouldn’t hold still last night, see below)! However, I’ve been addicted to figuring out this blog thing, and it was captured above by my girl bright and early.
I went for an easy 3 miler this morning with an 8:55 pace to warm up the ol’ legs for tomorrows Turkey Trot 5k in Temple, TX. A bagel with Jalapeno Cheddar and Cream Cheese was the perfect pre-run fuel.
It was such beautiful weather and it felt good to get out and run. I had to stop 3 times to put my hair back into a bun…thank goodness for the extra ponytail holders I always fashionably wear on my wrist!
Lynn and I went and picked up my packet for tomorrows race, sporting my Brooks Hyperion Shoes the whole day. I’m cool like that. (She’s amazing for driving us the 30 minutes there in the midst of holiday traffic!)
I’m lucky to have such a wonderful second family! Lynns Mom (my second Mom) made a delicious quiche Lorraine for dinner. Paired with my favorite food in the world (salad should be a food group), it made for a delicious meal! As we were eating, Lynn was mocking her brother Erik as he was super into Jeopardy on TV. Everyone else was pretty into it as well! Smart family, I do have to say 🙂
Finally, a few random pics of the cutest members of the family… the fur babies! Sorry Bella, didn’t get one of you today!
I’m so grateful for this great family and for my fiance! She makes everyday special and I’m so thankful she is in my life!
Long post, but a fulfilling lazy day! Fingers crossed to hit a new PR tomorrow. I’m back baby! Now, if I can just get some sleep tonight…..
